Muhammad Waqas Abbas

Muhammad Waqas Abbas is an Associate at Beaufort Associates, specialising in accounting, financial reporting and UAE tax compliance support.

Waqas holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Sargodha (2017–2021) and is currently pursuing the CMA qualification with the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMA International), which he commenced in January 2025. He also holds a certification in Data Analytics and Business Intelligence from the University of Sargodha (2026). He has over four years of professional experience in the UAE.

Prior to joining Beaufort Associates, Waqas worked with the Rashid Al Jabri Group of Companies, first as Assistant Accountant with the Group and subsequently as Accountant at Orki Cafe LLC, a Group subsidiary. In these roles he maintained accounting records and intercompany balances, managed accounts payable and receivable workflows, processed payroll and WPS salary transfers, managed online banking and post-dated cheques, reconciled point-of-sale and online-platform transactions, performed inventory valuations and filed VAT returns through the FTA portal. He also implemented the Odoo ERP point-of-sale and accounting modules for the business.

Since joining Beaufort Associates in May 2025, Waqas has managed the complete accounting cycle for a portfolio of clients, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and conducting on-site accounting reviews. He leads Corporate Tax and VAT registration and deregistration processes through the EmaraTax portal, acts as a primary point of contact for Federal Tax Authority communications, prepares VAT returns, and provides audit and Corporate Tax support to clients. He also prepares budgets and variance analysis reports to support management decision-making.

Waqas has particular strength in accounting systems. He configures and implements Odoo ERP and Zoho Books, including custom chart of accounts design, and spearheaded the migration of historical accounting data from Zoho Books to Odoo ERP, including full system configuration and chart of accounts optimisation.

He has worked with a diverse portfolio of businesses across the UAE, including companies operating in the food and beverage, real estate, management consultancy and trading sectors.
