Кому необходимо регистрироваться для уплаты корпоративного налога в ОАЭ?
UAE companies and other juridical persons (legal entities) that are subject to Corporate Tax generally need to register with the FTA and obtain a Corporate Tax Registration Number. Free zone companies are also within the Corporate Tax framework. Natural persons have a separate registration test and generally need to register when total turnover from business or business activities conducted in the UAE exceeds AED 1 million in a Gregorian calendar year, subject to the statutory exclusions.
Salary/wages, personal investment income and real estate investment income are excluded from the AED 1 million turnover test where the relevant statutory conditions are met. UAE branches of domestic juridical persons are generally treated as extensions of the head office and do not register separately.
If you are unsure whether your business falls within the registration rules, Beaufort Associates provides Corporate Tax consultancy in the UAE to help businesses assess their position before filing an application.
What Documents Do You Need for Corporate Tax Registration?
The FTA requires supporting documents that establish the legal identity, licence, ownership and authority of the person applying for registration. In 2026, the FTA Corporate Tax Registration service page lists the following core documents for a standard business application.
Incorporation documents
Certificate of incorporation, memorandum of association or partnership agreement, where available.
Commercial registration evidence
Commercial registration certificate or another official document issued by the licensing authority.
Trade licence
Valid trade licence, including branch licences where applicable.
Owner identification
Emirates ID and passport of any owner holding more than 25% ownership.
Authorised signatory identification
Emirates ID and passport of the authorised signatory.
Authority to sign
Proof that the signatory is authorised to act for the business.
The FTA currently accepts these registration documents in PDF format, with a maximum file size of 15 MB per document. Additional documents can apply to specific categories, including government entities and qualifying public benefit entities.

How Do You Register for Corporate Tax through EmaraTax?
The registration process is completed electronically. The FTA’s current Corporate Tax Registration service and user guidance set out the EmaraTax registration process. The following sequence summarises the main steps.
- Access EmaraTax. Sign in to the FTA EmaraTax platform using the current login method made available by the FTA.
- Create or select the relevant person profile. If the business is not already linked to the account, create the relevant profile and enter the requested profile information.
- Start the Corporate Tax registration application. Open the profile dashboard, go to Corporate Tax and select “Register”.
- Complete the entity details. Select the legal form and sub-type and complete the entity information requested in EmaraTax.
- Enter licence and business activity information. Upload the trade licence where applicable, enter the requested licence details, and add the business activities linked to the licence.
- Add owners and branch information. Enter the required owner or partner details, ownership percentages and information on UAE branches linked to the licence.
- Complete contact and authorised signatory details. Enter the business contact information and add the person authorised to sign on behalf of the business.
- Review the application carefully. Confirm that the supporting documents support the information entered in the application. This helps reduce the risk of rejection or resubmission. If the FTA requests additional information, provide it within the specified timeframe.
- Submit and monitor the application. After submission, keep the reference number and monitor the EmaraTax dashboard. The FTA may approve the application, reject it or request further information before issuing the Corporate Tax Registration Number.
How Much Does Corporate Tax Registration Cost and How Long Does it Take?
The FTA Corporate Tax registration service is free of charge. The FTA currently estimates approximately 25 minutes to submit an application where the required information and documents are ready. The FTA currently gives an estimated processing time of 20 business days from the date a completed application is received.
The processing period can be longer in practice where information is incomplete or the FTA requests additional documents. Preparing the ownership, licence and signatory information before starting the application can reduce avoidable delays.
What is the Corporate Tax Registration Deadline in 2026?
The registration deadline depends on the type of person and when the Corporate Tax registration obligation arose. A UAE juridical person (for example, a company or other legal entity incorporated in the UAE) incorporated, established or otherwise recognised on or after 1 March 2024 generally has three months from the date of incorporation, establishment or recognition to submit its registration application. Earlier UAE entities were subject to the licence-month deadlines introduced by FTA Decision No. 3 of 2024.
For a resident natural person whose total turnover from UAE business or business activities exceeds AED 1 million in a Gregorian calendar year, the registration deadline is generally 31 March of the following Gregorian calendar year. A non-resident natural person generally has three months from the date the Corporate Tax conditions are met. Under the current rules, this involves having a UAE Permanent Establishment (for example, a fixed place of business in the UAE where the legal conditions are met) and exceeding the applicable turnover threshold through that Permanent Establishment.
Late Corporate Tax registration can result in an administrative penalty of AED 10,000. The FTA also operates a separate late-registration penalty waiver initiative where the required conditions are satisfied. The waiver initiative should not be treated as an extension of the original registration deadline.
What Mistakes Can Delay a Corporate Tax Registration Application?
Registration applications are more likely to move smoothly when the information entered in EmaraTax matches the legal and licensing documents. The FTA specifically instructs applicants to ensure that supporting documents are consistent with the information entered in the application.
- Selecting the wrong entity type or legal form.
- Entering licence details that do not match the uploaded licence.
- Omitting owners, partners or branches that should be disclosed.
- Using outdated identification documents.
- Uploading incomplete proof of the authorised signatory’s authority.
- Selecting an incorrect financial year or Corporate Tax period.

Часто задаваемые вопросы
Can I register for Corporate Tax myself?
Yes. A business or individual that is required to register can submit the application directly through the FTA EmaraTax platform. Professional support can be useful where the ownership structure, legal form, branches, registration deadline or supporting documents require additional review.
Is Corporate Tax registration free with the FTA?
Yes. The FTA currently lists its Corporate Tax registration service as free of charge. A professional adviser may charge a separate service fee if the business appoints the adviser to prepare, review or manage the application.
How long does Corporate Tax registration take?
The FTA currently gives an estimated processing time of 20 business days from the date a completed Corporate Tax registration application is received. The timing can be longer where the FTA requests additional information or documents.
Do free zone companies need to register for Corporate Tax?
Free zone companies are within the UAE Corporate Tax framework and generally need to register where they are subject to Corporate Tax. Qualifying Free Zone Person status (a free zone business that meets the conditions for the special Corporate Tax regime) does not by itself remove the Corporate Tax registration requirement.
What happens after Corporate Tax registration is approved?
Once the FTA approves the application, the person receives a Corporate Tax Registration Number. Registration is the beginning of the compliance process; the business must then meet the applicable record-keeping, return filing and payment obligations for its circumstances.
Can Beaufort Associates complete the Corporate Tax registration process for me?
Yes. Beaufort Associates can compile and review the required registration documents, prepare and submit the application, follow up on FTA requests and monitor the process until registration is completed.
